Where: 144 Flint Street, Asheville, NC, 28801, at the home of Rita Hayes.
Parking: The Montford neighborhood has a lot of on-street parking for blocks around 144 Flint Street. We are figuring that there will be ample parking for this event. Shuttles will be provided from the Civic Center parking deck (two blocks away) if needed.
Hotels: The closest hotel to the wedding is the Four Points Sheraton, which is about 4 blocks away. It is $199 per night. A few other options include:
Hampton Inn on Tunnel Road, $169/night
Country Inns and Suites: Tunnel Road: $111/night.New Addition: Downtown Inn and Suites: around $80/night. This used to be a somewhat sketchy place, but my mom has had friends stay there recently who claim it is cleaned up and pretty nice. It's near Wall Street in downtown Asheville.
We also highly recommend checking out airbnb.com for some better deals and especially if you're interested in getting a few people into a house.
General Information: The wedding will be held outdoors in Rita's front yard and we're hoping for good weather. However, we will have tents set up in the yard in case the weather doesn't cooperate. Be prepared that the weather might be rainy and/or cool and pack and dress accordingly. We would describe the"Dress Code" as Casual Plus; Matt's wearing a vest and tie (and pants); Melissa is wearing a J.Crew dress. So we're not trying to win the crown at the Princess Ball, and you don't have to either unless you're just feeling the spirit move ya.
Registry: I know, we've been slacking on the registry for all you early birds.
